But that's because it's the home of the World's Largest Mineral Hot Springs, and they feel great. The Best Western has a hot tub in the courtyard which is fed by the spring. Nice place by any standards, a very nice place, for Thermopolis. Had a fireplace and indoor plumbing in my room. http://bestwesternwyoming.com/hotels/be ... laza-hotel
The Days Inn is just across the street. The only reason to go there is for the food at the Safari Club. http://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaurant_R ... oming.html
Monica heads up the State Bath House. She told me she was older than the dinosaurs in the museum across town. She's not quite that old but does know just about everything about everything in those parts.
The Black Bear restaurant gets a big thumbs up for wonderful service and great chili, as does Natures Corner @ the corner of 6th and Broadway. The Stones Throw fixes a really nice supper and they are located right on the airport, next to the golf course.
Wyoming Whisky is a few miles up the road, and the Wind River Canyon, which is breathtaking is just a ways down the road.
For those of you who are interested, it's a "Drone Friendly Town". I got blessings from the State Park Ranger, the Airport Manager and the P.D.. Flew all round the hot springs and up and down the main street. The airport manager says folks come to the airport to fly their RC's. Ha ha city slickers.
