I recently built a "reflector dish" out of a can of Sprite and card board that goes onto my antenna. Since doing that, I have been able to maintain 1100ft+ with zero loss of TX signal or video. I don't like to fly that high, but its nice to know my limitations have been expanded. In the beginning of this video, you can see a classic "TBE" or "Toilet Bowl Effect". I took off to hover about 20ft while I checked everything and you can see the Phantom going in a swirl pattern. I didn't land it because it seems to have corrected itself after about 45 seconds as you can see. After that I cruised on up to about 1100ft and flew a bit and then I took it to its vertical limit of 1640ft. I also had to use IOC Home Lock at one point because I lost my orientation because I was too far out on the horizontal. You can tell when I use it because I'm close to the 2 story white house hovering when all of the sudden the Phantom just starts to back away. It worked flawlessly. Perhaps after awhile I'll get used to flying FPV, but for now, I prefer to keep it in Line of Sight. Lastly, on landing the Phantom was going all over the place, as you can see, I finally did have an uneventful landing though and after landing the display said "Compass Calibration Needed". I did this using DJI's new push button calibration for a successful calibration. Took it back up to check it out and rock steady, no TBE, but just in-place hovering. Thanks for looking!

Hi JWarren
The reflector dish is my next mod for the V+ and I was wondering what were your reachable distances before your mini dish installation?

By the way fantastically clear video- it is amazing how much fun this little piece of white plastic can give us - bring it on

Good job you

Cheers Ray

Thank you Ray, before the mod I could get to, if I were lucky, to 1000ft but could not maintain it due to TX loss of signal and RTH. Now I'm flying around at 1000 + and no LOS. I've been as high as 1700ft, so it almost doubled it.

I likely will eventually, but losing video has never been a problem. I do use the booster app.
