switching from P to ATTI, then back again to P

If I were to start out in P with gps and oa enabled, I'd like to switch to atti for a run , then switch back to P. When I go back to P Mode and use return to home will the home point that was set before flying be remembered?

Yes -- the last set home point is always remembered. However, your Phantom will only be able to fly there if it has usable GPS data and/or is not experiencing any compass-related issues when RTH is initiated.
