Alright I got my phantom 2 h3-d3 just a couple of hours ago. I have been reading the instructions over and downloaded and installed the Phantom 2 Assistant Software v2.00 only. I hook my phantom to my windows 7 pc and run the assistant software and i cant get it to recognize the phantom. What do I do? After I get that problem solved I want to program my s2 button so i can flip the switch at any time and the phantom will rth on its own. I have watched a couple videos on that but im more confused now. Last thing i want to do is lift the limit on the range. How do I do that and what setting is best?. Thank you all so much for the help.

Be sure your P2 is on of course, but calibrated and you have blinking green lights. Might wanna take the props off until you're really confident.
Could be the USB cable swap it out and see.

As mentioned, Windows requires the DJI driver and the DJI software assistant.
