I stopped by our local County Airport today. The lady at the info desk told me who I had to speak with and within a few jingles I was sitting in his office. He told me that he was also an avid drone pilot. He also gave me a list of people I could call at other local airports, including the one at a nearby navy base. I have a lot of restricted airspace around me and told me how to get permission to fly there. He told me that there was a local group and invited me to join them during one of their pop-up flights.
He also told me that I was the second person in the last 5 years and encouraged me to go for the Part 107 license. All in all a very good, interesting, and enjoyable visit
