I'm contemplating getting an SSD for my laptop. It's a desktop replacement laptop and can fit two drives. As far as video editing is concerned would the best performance increase come from using the SSD as the operating system and programs drive or best as the video editing "scratch" drive?

I hear RAID 0 is also popular but I don't know if I would be able to find another OEM drive. Though I could match the specs.

Thanks!

Not true. RAID 5 will be faster than your SSD as the drives each ads to the speed. Upwards of 700-1000 MB/s. But by fast, we are talking read/write speed here. If you're talking about speeding up your render time in your editor, it's a matter of fast CPU, using GPU and max. out the RAM.
