I am having a hard time understanding the information pertaining to the software installation. The guide for NAZA, states, for advanced adjustments, right now, I would just like to get the Phantom off the ground! Also, I am a bit skittish about downloading to my Mac. So, will someone please, in very basic terms explain what is needed as far as software installation concerning the transmitter and Phantom.

i could never get it connected to my PC. Windows couldn't detect it and would constantly try to install its own drivers.

Go to this page -> http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-fc40/download If you're using a PC download assistant software and driver. Install both in your PC and then follow directions. For your Mac there's a seperate download and doesn't require driver. Then you plug your Phantom into computer with cable provided. Open assistant software and you'll see different options and specs for all of your Phantoms functions. While you're on this page at DJI download the manual.
