I'm trying to get the smoothest video playback from my V2+ but am encountering some difficulty because playback, after editing, is choppy. I have a class 10 card in the camera and am using Prodrenalin for my initial modifications to the video. How can I find out what is causing this choppiness in playback? What are the best settings to produce the best video from the V2+? Is there a best practices guide out there that I'm not aware of? Any help or guidance would be welcome.

Playback on what?
A lot of older devices and computers are barely able to cope with 1080p video.
Try recording at 720p/30fps setting, that should be easier to play smoothly and is still technically HD - and looks fine on most screens.
The 720p at 60fps will be a little more challenging but will smooth movement more.

In general for best results you want to avoid any conversions during editing - so whatever settings your video is recorded at should be the template throughout.
For example if you recorded at 25 fps then tried to render at 30fps there might well be some jerking as frames would be duplicated
