I just received my P3P and have been hearing bad things about the latest firmware. Are there any significant problems with the stock firmware?

You probably will not be able to fly if you do not update.

I was actually able to fly yesterday and received no warnings about outdated firmware in the DJI Pilot App.

Latest firmware here, running Android. Zero issues. The bad things you've been hearing about the latest are from iOS users blaming it on screen freezes/connection failures. It's all conjecture at this point since a number of unrelated things could cause the same effect.

No issues here, but you will need current firmware in order to receive future firmware releases

It might already have newest firmware installed, the app will tell you.
I haven't heard anything convincing as a reason not to.
