SD Slot on RC

I have a new (unflown) P4P I went to update the RC Firmware following DJI's instructions. They said to use the sd card in the msd slot. But my RC mod#GL300F has no slot between the USB ports. I was about to use the card reader in the USB port, but DJI says DO NOT DO THAT. Did they send me the wrong RC or am I blind or can I use the card reader ????? Thanks

RC for P4P+ has a slot for SD card and not for P4P.
