Many of you folks may have become aware that the Satellite Predictor website has been off line for some time now. http://164.121.248.196/index.pl?SiteNam ... omtech.com
In any case I was curious if anyone had anything further regarding the site, if and when it may become available once more, or perhaps going to be a permanent action ? I kinda liked referencing the info offered before choosing a day and time to fly. :D

    Thanks,

Ditto on the GPS PLAN app if you're using IOS. Works great and has an elevation mask setting.

Thanks to all who had responded with alternative suggestions, The web-site I had previously listed had been internet accessible, but I will need to look for an android compatible App which offers the same info. as the IOS App shown.

    Thanx much!

Re satpredictor.navcomtech.com, I have been in touch with them to ask if the site is likely to come back up and if so, when. I'll keep you updated.

Thank you Jetlagged787, that would be great.
I've been looking for something similar to the Satellite Predictor offered by navcomtech.com, and not necessarily an App, but haven't found anything quite the same without needing to download possible third party software with cookies etc, which I hadn't really wanted to do. I found (satpredictornavcomtech.com) was user friendly, easy to access via my PC.
Thanks for looking into the matter.

Have a look at GPS Status on Android.
Instead of predicting sats, it shows what sats are visible to the GPS sensor in your phone.

I've used this Android app a lot in the past when I had Android phones. It's very good!

Great news folks. :D The Satellite Prediction Tool is still available.

It has had a makeover and can now be found at:

Happy flying... Once the K Index comes down from its current 7. Eek!

More good news: this is very experimental and preliminary (early alpha at best), but you can use this site, which combines weather, sun, GPS satellite visibility and Kp index into a single page. Just type your ZIP code in at the top. Only works for the US for now.

It can be done, but I probably won't get to it any time soon though.

    Wow! Thanks for going International.

Is it intentional that the result is chopped and doesn't include the extra graphs that were at the bottom of the page on the previous version?

Yes, I dropped the graphs for now when I did the visual update yesterday, they weren't adding any useful information.
