Salt Lake County to Use Drones

Here is an article about the use of a drone by the Salt Lake County Surveyor. Looks like a Phantom 4.

For county surveyor, it's up, up and away

That's quite a turn-around in just 2 years ....
"SALT LAKE CITY (ABC 4 Utah) - A bill cracking down on aerial drone cameras in Utah is sparking some controversy. So far the bill is getting a lot of support from state lawmakers, but some police don't like it.

An aerial drone bill has received unanimous support from the Utah Senate. The bill limits when police or anybody for that matter could use a drone to look at or take pictures of people. That's a concern for Unified Police."

Not really. The bill from 2 years ago (I'm pretty sure it passed) did not allow the police to use drones for surveillance... spying on people when it otherwise would not be allowed/possible. For example, it told police that they could not fly over my property to see if I was doing something wrong. This new article is about the county using drones for surveying land. Two different entities and two different uses.
