While transferring over parts to my new shell I ripped part of the sticky cover over the GPS module on the top. Does anyone know if this will effect the GPS at all, I'm just wondering because it has a thin layer of metal in it.

The GPS insulator shield is to help eliminate electrical and radio interference to the GPS module that's underneath. If you slightly overlap the tear, you should be fine. You can always fabricate a new one with self sticking adhesive foil.
