RI Lawmakers eye drone rules

But privacy advocate Randall Rose is concerned the commission, which includes a drone industry representative, is too pro-drone.

"The discussion at the commission today talked about Rhode Island being a leader in permitting drones. It didn't talk about Rhode Island being a leader in protecting people's privacy," Rose told NBC10.
Someone needs to take privacy advocate Randall Rose flying to bring a little reality into his life. It's ridiculous that people are still going on about the fantasy of recreational drones being used to spy on people.

No kidding... I wish people would realize that our cameras DO NOT ZOOM!!! When I fly my 8 year old son comes with me, and he loves when he is on camera. At about 150 feet you can't even tell it's him... ugh... And it's funny... I work for a school department here in RI, and the officer that does patrols here knows I have a quad, and always asks me if I've flown it lately... I've offered my services to them in case they need something like that.

Oh well.. I'm gonna keep my ears and eyes open for any developments...
