Found this little GPS transponder, still under development and said to release soon.

It states the subscription fee will be only $1.79 a month... May well be the GPS locator solution RC pilots have been waiting for.

Small lightweight solution at a low cost, includes a smartphone app.

Thanks Rookie. Hope you're on to something. Just ordered the Garmin last night. Love to return it unopened, though that seems unlikely.

Well, my tracker is a little bigger (but probably has better antennas) and needs charging every couple of weeks... I wonder what prove they will charge? I sure wouldn't pay a monthly fee for something I can get free... (You can get a contract roaming sim for less that $1.79 / month, and GPS is free).
