Just fitted my replacement camera as the last one was soft on the right hand side.
The new one came from new stock which arrived last week. A couple of points ; the new camera is definitely sharper but unfortunately is now soft on the left hand side ! I read on another thread this is caused by the lens not being perfectly centred. I really do not know what to do now. I like the central sharpness and worry that another replacement will not be as good. Has anyone actually got a camera that is sharp over the whole image ?
There is still the noise present obviously but at least for Web use this new camera is acceptable. The central part of the image is as least as good as anything I have seen posted here.
nb - it came with the old firmware which I did not think to check so all my test dng shots which were taken in great light and a gentle breeze (a rarity these past weeks) are all useless
