Had my p3 for a few weeks now..... hoping to clarify what should be obvious!!

The tablet go-pro screen.............. when you do commands on there like RTH or photos, does it send the message directly to the drone or via the remote?

The WiFi from the tablet............. this connects to the remote but also connects to the drone?

The drone sends its pictures by WiFi to the tablet?

The remote doesn't have GPS....... it uses the GPS that's in the tablet?

The commands from the remote to the drone uses some other transmission....not WiFi?

I've even confused myself even more!

Now you can tell me I've got this totally wrong lol.

your tablet talks to the remote by it's own Wi-Fi , the remote then talks to the drone and vice versa , the remote sends control signals on a Wi-Fi frequency of 5.8 ghz and receives video on a Wi-Fi frequency of 2.4 ghz which is then sent to your tablet , remote does not have GPS , it uses the tablet 's GPS to set the map correctly and some of the IOC functions , GPS on your tablet is not need to fly , you can fly without GPS -- just no map , the P3S is limited in range due to using WI-FI and is interfered by other WI-FI , the P3A , P3P and P4, P4P use a different transmission system -- LIGHTBRIDGE = longer range and less interference
