Regulations for Spain

Sorry, but I think that sonething is wrong When copying the link. You can find it in the web address "www.vueloavela.org" once in the page, click at "Navegacion" and look for "Cartografia" under it. More or less at the middle of that page you'll find "Espacio Aereo". Go to "SUA Spain april 2016" and click on "3D-KMZ" below Google name. There is the file to be used with Google Earth

I have my machines insured at Inter Hannover. If I remember correctly it covers liability up to 700000 euros or so. Did an aerial of Christian von Koenigsegg a while ago, with one of his cars. He wanted to do it with the 1:1 model, which is appx 2,5 million euros. I opted out and asked him to go get one of his older, cheaper models, which maybe cost 1 million euros or so...;-)

My Insuramce is from CASER Seguros. Mail of my agent: [email protected]

I was told by a teacher that in Spain the companies with drone assurances were CASER and GENERALI. It could be others companies, but they dont have specific contracts.

Reading my Caser insurance polic, it says:

"Geographic Limitation:
Warranty of this insurance extends and it is limited to responsibilities derived from damages occurred in countries of European Union and Andorra. In those countries which may demand a local insurance policy, the coverage of this assurance will act in excess to the local responsibility insurance policy."

Im planning on going on my first Abroad trip with my P3 Advanced to Calpe (spain) and checking up on the rules as you do!, Im just wondering if my insurance through FPVUK with 5Mil Public liability will be ok, it states that flying in Europe is covered so i hope so

Insurance is not mandatory for hobby flyers in spain. The rules for flying are pretty universal, be aware though the rock at calpe contain a huge number of sea gulls who think a drone is fair game.

Thank you I will bear that in mind!

Remember that u CANT fly in Spain in National Parks and other protected areas with a PORN, like timanfaya.

Check Icarusrp (web or app)

As Robinb said, insurance is not mandatory in Spain, but according to the only official brochure issued in Spain by the Spanish Aerial Security Agency AESA regarding hobby drone flights, ( http://www.seguridadaerea.gob.es/media/4427085/recomendaciones_uso_drones.pdf ) they only mention four items to follow: 1) Always fly with the drone at sight; 2)It is not necessary to be a pilot, but you have to know how to fly safely; 3) YOu can only fly in adequate zones, i.e: aero-model areas,. unpopulated areas, etc; 4) Damages produced by your drone are YOUR RESPONSIBILITY. It is here where your insurance might be useful. It is mentioned at proffesional clauses that a 300k Public Liability is sufficient for a less than 20 kilograms drone. Thus, with your 5 Mill. insurance, you are more than covered! Good flights!

I shall be flying from Southend into Malaga next week with my P3P so ill let you know if I have any problems getting Drone through Security. if all goes will ill be flying around Mijas Golf! :)
