This registration thing is so retarded. Please give us 5.00 even though it's free now and we will rebate you later. They want a credit card for 5.00? They have lost their minds. Another way to get my credit card hacked for a fee that's free? I don't get it.

Helps to verify that you are you. But I agree

I agree. I've had my personal information "accidentally" released twice already by the federal government. Necessary evil though.

Me, too! It's a fraud! It's not FREE if you have to first charge $5 on your personal CC to assist in authentication, to have a $5 credit issued at some future date, only if you already charged $5 on your personal CC to begin with! Especially if you aren't even required to register until Feb 19th, 2016! Some people will sell their souls to the devil for a mere $5 credit!

Maybe I will do the paper filing and send 500 pennies to them instead.
Better yet, wait until after Feb 19th, as there are already some serious legal challenges being mounted, which will likely stay the requirement to even register, until they can be resolved! :D

Yes I backed out when I saw the credit card thing. I will wait. This needs to be challenged because they are trying to hijack our credit cards. They said free and it's not free. Are they going to guarantee they won't get our cards hacked? You didn't see that in their using their site agreement.

It has been recommended to hold off on registration until the deadline as gadgetguy has stated. This will play out in the courts for a while and changes are most likely coming

The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Mere negligence on their part is enough to cause major grief for everyone that registers prematurely.

Does anyone really think the FAA has devised a registration process for drones just so they can get your cc number? Really? Come on. ....you must have a pretty high limit. "Hey Bob, we got a good one. Lets full up the space shuttle with rocket fuel on his card!"

I don't think everyone is wearing tin foil hats thinking this is a scam to get our credit cards but there is a level of wariness. The government doesn't exactly have a great track record of safeguarding information and considering that the registration isn't mandatory yet, it's not a bad idea to hold off and wait to see how everything shakes out.

I think everyone has issue with something being free still being charged with a future rebate and then the credit card number is always on file.

The whole "give me your credit card but we won't use it" thing sounds strange. The only other place I've even heard of something like that is porn websites and the impending DJI website for no-fly areas. :)
