Record Mini iOSD readings?

I'm in the process of collecting all of the parts needed for an FPV setup. I have the Mini iOSD and was curious if, in the meantime, I could install it and have the GoPro record it's readouts while in flight until I get my goggles/screen. Is that possible?

You will need a DVR to plug into your monitor to record flight data. the GoPro does not record anything but what it is seeing.
