Real reason for P3P $799 Price

I got you drone fever. I however did get my pro in. Luv it. Have not flown it yet as the wind was too strong. However I hooked up my goggles and everything worked perfect. I left the props off and I'm stoked to get it in the air. Will fly both pro and standard together. But be above the other.

looks like the old motors on the pic of the pro

I actually asked that same question and was told these are the latest model
That's unfortunate. I certainly wouldn't want that iteration of the P3P myself. Power outputwise for video, the W323A was already bad. The W323B is the worst, and the GL300C controller also dumbed down the control range!

I am curious about this reply, as I sold my Standard to obtain an Advanced on the initial price drop for the 10th anniversary. I received the "B" revision Advanced (322B, right? i'll have to go look, but it is indeed B), and one of the improvements of the B revision was the increased range from 1.2 to 3.1 miles. I haven't noticed any issues with my Advanced, and it runs better than my standard ever did. Thrust is great, distance is spot on (tested a long range on my parents farm land). So what makes you say this is all "dumbed" down and decreased?!?!?!?

I bought one and unlike another person in this forum, and I did get the USA version. I noticed something odd though, the range on the box says 1.25 miles, yet on the dji website and everyone says the range is 3 miles (5kilometers). Is it just old print and the increased range is from a software update?

from what I have seen, the remote has been upgraded on revision B as well as the motors, and shell. your remote model number should be GL300C if it's the new one.

I ordered one of the $ 799.00 Phantom 3 Professional on ebay, it was being sold by The Pixel Hub. It arrived in two days with free shipping. The box was sealed, it was indeed a Phantom 3 Professional, it has the new style motors and was running firmware 1.4.10.

Edit: The RC is the GL300C

The serial begins with P81JC so is it safe to assume that dji just hasn't updated the print on their packaging and I do indeed have the newer 5km range (under optimal conditions of course)?

Where do you finds the remotes model number? Is it on the box?

On the RC itself. On the bottom of the RC in the first line of text. The DJI logo then GL300C

The GL300C is in very small print.

I got a gl300b what does it mean?

Old print. Same thing on my box. But I went 12k last night and got s warning that battery was low even at 68% left. So I came back home. Now I will just calculate based on time 9 mins about is far as I will go regardless of distance.

The W322B has 70% of the video power output of the original W322 from the aircraft, and the GL300C has 80% of the power output of the GL300A and GL300B. The W323 is the Pro version of the W322 Advanced with the same specs, except for the camera.

The W323 Phantom 3 Professional has a frequency range of:
(2406.50000000 - 2476.50000000 and a power output of 0.7460000 )
FCC ID: SS3-WM3231503

2406.50000000 2476.50000000 0.7460000
===========
The W323A Phantom 3 Professional has a frequency range of:
2406.50000000 - 2476.50000000 and a power output of 0.6120000 (82% of the W323)
(18% more than W323B)
FCC ID: SS3-WM3231507

2406.50000000 2476.50000000 0.6120000
=============
The W323B Phantom 3 Professional has a frequency range of:
2406.50000000 - 2476.50000000 and a power output of 0.5200000 (70% of the W323)
==============

Even though DJI originally advertised a 1.2 mile range for the W322, it was actually well over 3 miles. They reduced the power outputs, and then quoted the new range, which is still less than the original W322.

If you are not using boosters and amps and a battery mod, you won't notice the change. If you are, you will.

I don't quite agree.

In the 1960s, **** Tracy was a popular comic strip. But he had this ridiculous thing on his wrist where he could talk to his fellow officers and also see their face while he talked. I knew there was no way this would ever happen in my lifetime. No way.

http://i1.huffpost.com/gen/2020310/thumbs/n-****-TRACY-large570.jpg

In 1991, I saw my first short, blurry, animated video on a computer. From my hard drive of course, because it was a mega file. No way this thing could ever be broadcast on something like the internet. The file is just too big. There's too much data to be sent at a speed that could broadcast it live. No way this will happen. Ever.

Now I Facetime with my daughter in SF every weekend. On Wifi. In color. It's just ridiculous. Things are moving so fast.

This is an emerging and growing technology. There is too much potential in autonomous flight. For example, look at Amazon's drone-delivery system goals. And now with obstacle avoidance, it seems even more possible that something like a concept x product could be permitted.
HAHA, yes can be permitted but you will be able to fly ONLY in designated area, so kiss goodbye your local, state parks (already a NFZs)
As technology grows only big boys will be able to use it.
Conditioning is a ***** LOL.

I just bought my P3P from Best Buy in Wichita for $999 plus free battery. The receipt was as follows: P3P $850.00. Battery $149.00.

Can you return the extra battery alone for $149 refund, and keep the rest?

eBay deal still better but Amazon just changed their price to 850$. Vendor is Dji themselves. Either way Amazon and eBay deal no tax DJI Phantom 3 Professional Quadcopter 4K UHD Video Camera Drone Amazon.com : DJI Phantom 3 Professional Quadcopter 4K UHD Video Camera Drone : Camera & Photo

Guess 850 is going rate for phantom 3 professional now . Amazon lists it st 850 and the seller is DJI THEMSELVES

I would have went the Amazon route. 850 plus 126$ battery =976$ no tax. Best Buy u paid heft chunk in sales tax

Link says "Sold by ALL e RC" rather than DJI...
Did it just change??

B&H is still $999, but that will likely change, too, in the next 48 hours.
