RC software update

Hi

just installed V1.2 of the RC asst and it says there is an update

5.8G Transmitter firmware：
V1.0.2.31
What is new？
Only for the new remote control:
indicateor led will blink when PPM line is connect
Applicaiton：
Phantom 2 Vision/Vision+/Phantom

Having the old controller i take it that its pointless updating the firmware ?

If you have the P2 Vision, there was only one update for the Transmitter, since March of 2014, it deals with connectivity issues. It is a necessary upgrade for reliability. However, this upgrade will require you to open the transmitter body and connect to an internal USB to update it.
Additionally, there was a camera update that was also issued back in March to ver 1.19

If i remember correctly, these updates were to help with connection dropouts and overall performance.
The updates will be required if you intend to update to the latest revisions.

I don't know what the firmware update does...go read the manual.
