I often read at just how far distance wise people have achieved with their Phantom 1 with the stock transmitter. In the instructions it quotes 1000 metres. However this nearly always refers to a V1.1.1 Phantom where they changed the circuits in the transmitter and added a second aerial to the craft. My Phantom is a V1.2 with a single aerial on the craft and the older transmitter. The instructions at that time quoted 300 metres. Anyone flying an older Phantom 1 with stock transmitter- how far have you flown? I am guessing that even at 300 metres the craft would still be barely visible by LOS. I mainly (so far) fly over my local fields and would like to know with confidence that it is not likely to lose the signal when flown several fields away.

cheers

I have a 1.1 with the ppm tx/rx. In dense suburbs (not ideal conditions) I regularly get between 800-1200m. Normally my 5.8ghz VTX cuts out exactly the same time control does.
