Leave the channel settings to auto, forget the 32 channel hack. Get a pair of windsurfers and it will help. My spot is on a hill without any interruptions as well, i took my windsurfers out to 60,000 feet and back. And about a week ago I did 71k feet out and back. That was almost 27 mile round trip. Here's recording of the flight playback in Dji go, this was without camera and weight reduction.

I made a set out of 3" drain pipe cut in half then hot glued drilled baseplates. For the reflector I used sheetmetal foil tape. Went out i mile with no signs of signal loss. My cost was under $10

I got a pair on amazon, that fold in half with copper foil for 10 bucks.

Dang, that was on 1 battery? I'm happy with 1 good strong mile. I used to fly long range stuff on VHF, just don't feel the need anymore

that one was actually two batteries piggybacked together. Was 10,600mah in total, in addition to the stock DJI battery. Its a rush .. i still do all my regular flying for pics/videos, but this is super fun .. pretty intense too. but not without risks

Due to winter weather, I've only tested it out to 2 miles, moderate line of sight. It had full signal bars.

I am expecting range capable Clear line of sight could be 10-20 miles (probly more). In no way am I looking for distances that great, I want the signal to be solid and want to have penetrating ability. It's also how I cook my eggs and ham.
