Range extender lights problem

The amber light goes on but never goes to green. When I turn it on it goes through the solid green blinking etc.
I just don't know if it's fully charged.
Does anyone know what the problem could be, and how to fix?

I know that when I charge mine with a booster battery rather than from a wall socket, it never turns green, just stays amber. I have to plug it into the wall to get green.

If you are plugging it into the wall, what is the amps of the charger? I would use as high as possible such as 2 amps.
