was there diy lens holder a direct bolt on fit? Didn't look to have the same hole pattern as the stock one.

I was able to speak with Dennis on the phone this week. I plan on sending him my Vision this week. Hopefully all goes well.

Good luck. :-/

Hope you don't get stuck without a working camera for several weeks like the other guy.

He's located pretty close to me and 99% of his other customers seem very happy. I have all the confidence in the world that everything will go well.

Hello, i bought the Part Number 302387 DIY Lensholder and Lens. 169€ You are right that the Lensholder is exactly made for the Gopro Hero 3 or 3+. But if you will Change the holder and release the Screws from the sensor Panel, you will see that it will fit to the metal case. You have to cut min. 2 of the front holders (original 3 for the gopro) an cut 4 small pieces from the Corner of the bottom of the holder. After that you can Position it in the middle an repostion the screws gently and smooth. So you can protect the Sensor Panel against Deformation.
I you have finished all that, you can use the old and new lenses. ;-)

sorry for my ugly english ;-)

Some Pictures, the holder is easy to cut. Because of the longer shaft of the holder und the therefore bigger Diameter you have to cut just 2mm from the upper camera Shell,to fit it in original Position. All in All max 1h work

with new lens:

Sorry but the noise isn´t so much at the original (we have the 600 kb Limit;-))), but the Picture is also not resampled or denoised ;-)

I could see DJI releasing a better camera accessory as well as an updated version of the P2V including it. I'm interested to see what the future holds. I also think as time goes on that the larger professional rigs like the DJI S1000 are going to drop in price from $5,000-6,000 to $2,000-2,500 due to competition. As with any electronics item it seems like time always lowers the price. I'm definitely hooked on this hobby for life now. Haha

I think flyingeyes will give DJI a run for their money. Watching them like a hawk for my next bird.

Yeah I've been watching it too. Looks cool. I like DJIs idea of using a smartphone or tablet for the display. Saves money on paying for a proprietary display unit.

The ST12 in the link lets you drop your phone in the controller. See page 4.

Now I saw pictures. Looks nice. I hope they keep it up. Competition will drive down the prices for us the consumer.

Hi Jonasg4 - do you have a video showing the installation and footage from the vision with the new flat lens?

I should be getting my Ragecam 5.4 flat lens back any day. Can't wait to test it.

Before and After /Original VS. 5,6mm Lens

for you the DNG Images from nearly the same Point.

Now it´s your choice ;-)) :D :) :p

Drastic improvement around the edges but not a $500 improvement of overall quality in a 100% crop. This is just my opinion. I'd probably do it for $99 but not a penny more. The best thing of the mod imo is fisheye removal. Especially for video.
