Quick Antenna question (P2V+)

I currently have my wifi repeater on my P2V+ modded, on one side I put a 9 db omni directional antenna, on the other one I Have a 14 db TPlink directional antenna. I have not tried this with my amplifier yet (misplaced one rp-sma-rpsma female cable) however my fpv video cuts out at about 1200 or so feet (city) even when being pointed directly at. This worried me as this is roughly what I was getting with the stock antenna, is there anything wrong with my setup?
