Question on connectivity

Hi All
Here is what is probably simple question for those of you who are tech savvy... I have been using my iPhone 6 Plus to fly my drone. It has at&t connectivity. Today I purchased an iPad mini 4 to use instead. It only has wifi. When I went into settings on the mini, it showed my phone as a potential hotspot. Does that mean that when I'm out and about with both of them, I can access the internet and such through my iPad mini if I select my phone as a personal hotspot under wifi settings? (Please say yes!)

Yes, you can connect your iPad Mini to your iPhone via a hotspot and share the Internet connection.

....unless it's a P3S, in which case you'd need to hotspot via cable or bluetooth, since the P3S uses wifi to connect to the device.
