Question about antenna connectors

I'm purchasing a 32 channel Black Pearl, the sma version. Does it matter if the vtx I get is sma or rp-sma or does that only matter when it comes to the antennas? In other words would a rp-sma vtx have a problem working with a receiver that is sma?

Should work fine,. Just a gender change. (I've one vtx with a gender bender, and it works)
