It's a fact. That's how the software figures out when to switch modes.


Changing the software does not make that fact null and void. Software does what you tell it to do. DJI never intended on people figuring out how to make that change.

The code doesn't seem to be a 'if here use this setting' it looks like a hard location setting that is always in effect unless it's changed after delivery ie; given a region code not unlike a DVD player. Also, just discussing not being adversarial. I appreciate the responses

nixon, what's your point? That changing the software will change the way the FCC/CE switch works? If so, I fully agree with you.

Yes, I would like to have the better range here in Australia, and the extra wattage is not illegal.

So, go for it then. Just be aware that DJI will probably not honor their warranty if you brick your Phantom in the process.
