I've not seen many reviews of third party batteries so thought I would share my very limited experience here.
For my Phantom 2 I have two DJI batteries and one Limefuel AIRL54P 5400 mAh. The limefuel is the newest of the 3 (about 8 months old) and has flown fewer missions (about 12 total) than the OEMs. Started noticing slight swelling upon charging as well as discharging, which went away after it cooled, but now the puffiness is permanent. Still getting full flight time with it but my confidence has been greatly diminished.
I should add that all three have been handled the same way (stored at about 50%, allowed to cool before recharging, not left in a hot car, etc.).
Suppose I could try to collect on their 12 month warranty but wonder how that would go. Anyone here tested their warranty policy?
Edit: I have sent an email to Limefuel concerning warranty coverage. I will let everyone know what I find out. Meanwhile, feel free to express your experience.
