Protecting the gimbal ribbon cable

I have seen mentioned in a couple of posts relating to broken ribbon cables on the gimbal that there is perhaps benefit in taping the cable carefully.

Would it be possible for someone to share their techniques and experiences. Plus a photo if possible?
