That's something they are NOT able to shoot them down because it is illegal but the hillbilly got charges dropped (corrupt judge) for shooting one that was not doing anything wrong . What a system we have o_O

Yeah, perhaps someone needs to point that out to Yahoo Tech? Another story without much investigation done.

They point out the same problem that registering drones does nothing to solve:
"However, that would depend on the owner actually registering it; it’s doubtful that someone willing to fly a drone into a prison would be so scrupulous."

Simply netting the airspace above the prison yard would solve the problem completely. QED. :D

More Anti-Drone Blah Blah.... Let's scare the hell out of the public again by reporting on drones having the capability of delivering cell phones, porn, cigarettes and pot (note that there was no mention of firearms being delivered)...... What can stop this horrible "attack of the killer drones"? Well boys and girls if guards can't stop full size helicopters from trying to break prisoners out of jail, you have bigger problems than drones. List of helicopter prison escapes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Maybe the real problem to be addressed is that we still have a few corrupt guards who are willing to arrange for drone drops to be made, and the contraband collected and distributed.

BTW I really like this simple and elegant solution

Treat it like the zoo it is! Zoos use huge nets to keep the birds in. Nets can be made as big as you need. That's being real.
