Poor signal at 1200 feet

I had clear LOS and the bird was about 350 feet in the air. This was the first time I was flying it and I almost had a heart attack. It said poor signal and I believe it flashed red. Is this normal? That's seems extremely short especially since I was in a wide open area.

Ps, is this data tracked anywhere on the bird or app as tracked warnings (ie when signals are lost) etc?
