Just took it out for first FPV flight and lose signal about 20 mtrs alt and 30 mtrs out.

DJI FPV ALV58 , using 90 degree RP SMA to have it hanging vert down, black pearl dvi, using one channel with antenna supplied with bp and one with clover supplied with ALV58.

Any ideas ??

A second issue is the gimbal does not always power up with phantom but this maybe a loose wire as still to check

Post a picture of the Transmitter and the monitor you're using...

It could be the old issue with the AVL58 rearing its head again.
The soldering for the antenna connection on the AVL58 vTx is really fragile and can be easily snapped by over tightening the antenna when you attach it.

Failing that, are you sure you have the same channel on both tx and rx? There is some crosstalk between channels so you might have got an adjacent channel instead.
