Anyone know why the polar pro CP filter twists on itself? I thought it was to adjust the light but the lens is only one shade I.e it's not graduated so doesn't make sense it would spin??
A polarized filter is directional. (Hence the term polarized)
If it is turned 90 degrees it does not filter out glare.
If it has an arrow on it, point it up. If not, adjust it till it filters out the most glare.
Filter manufacturer has no way of knowing what position the filter will be in once it is screwed onto the lens, Hence the need to be able to rotate the filter once it is on. Same on any camera.
