Hi, finally getting my wings as I learn to fly my new P2V. I have noticed that landing in grass is a real problem. Bird almost always turns sideways becoming a very expensive mini lawn mower. I tried a piece of foamcore board, but realize that it is too light. The downwash gets underneath it and moves it around while you are trying to land. What are you folks using? Thanks

I nearly always catch land or my observer does. For takeoffs on some surfaces I use a rectangle of the heavier foamex board covered with that non slip rubber stuff that stops it sliding about. It doesn't blow with downwash. I cut it to fit into the laptop sleeve of my back pack that I use for carrying the P2. Don't always use it but if grass is wet or long or seaweed on the shore it comes in handy.
