PLEASE watch this video and tell me what i am doing wrong

    There is a video of me trying to upgrade my recently purchased PHANTOM....

    I can not get the calibration software to recognize the phantom for some reason.

    And when I do it tells me i have to update the main controller before i can do anything????

    Please any help would be appricated.

    I need to calibrate so there is no drift on my phantom

    I had to disable my anti-virus before I could get software downloaded. Even after it was all working my Windows 8 sometimes does not recognize the Phantom through the USD. Rebooting my computer solves the problem. However, my older Windows 7 computer does not give me any problems so I use that one.

    The first time I updated my phantom, everything went smoothly, a few days later when a newer firmware was released, I couldn't get my laptop to connect to the phantom. I was stumped, the green led was coming up showing the USB was connected, but, I read not to long before that day, of some people have connection issues with the USB cable on the led board. So I opened up my phantom, push the USB connector into the led board as best I could, and had no trouble after that.

    Is that a Mac or PC you're working on......must be Windows?

    I got the same exact thing when I first tried to use the software, I even got the (CreateProcess Failed: code 740.
    the requested operation requires elevation.) code, see this tread for others with the same problem viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1923

    i had to reinstall windows 8 drivers before mine would update to the new 3.16

    well i am on parallels on a mac.....

    I will try windows 7 ultimate but if that doesent work....

    When you say you had to reinstall windows 8 drivers what do you mean?

    the phantom drivers from DJI webpage???

    Well I installed windows 7 ultimate and guess what

    It finally worked!!!

    All I did was update firmware and ruin the longer calibration so hopwefull all will be well when I fly tomorrow

    only use windows 7 to do anything with the phantom!!!!!!! :roll: :roll:

    Not correct, works fine with windows 8 (using it on bootcamp on a MBP)

    but not with parallels on OSX ;-)
