Videoing the Phantom in flight is hard with a helper and nearly impossible by yourself. Pivothead makes video glasses for discretely! videoing at a solid 1080 30fps HD, or 720 p at 60 fps and 8 MP stills, even time lapse.. These are photo chromatic Chameleons, they are clear inside and go dark in sunlight. Quality is no GoPro but pretty amazing for almost no visible recorder. Built in 8 GB and LiPo battery good for about an hour of recording. Don't face into the sun, everything washes out, but low light is ok. Hardest part is holding your head steady, you'll be amazed at what a monkey head you have until you get the hang of it. They aren't cheap, but can be a great aid for tracking flights from the ground for splicing into a cool video.

Why not a pair of these instead of a dedicated DVR for a FPV setup?

Interesting crossover concept! Transmitting video over FPV never gets the quality direct recording does....maybe one day...
