Dear phantom pilots,

Since 2 months ago i have bought my first DJI Phantom 3 Standard and i have a question about the
picture quality.

When i take pictures with the DJI P3S i notice a lot of grains in my picture.
I uploaded the Original DNG file to my dropbox:
Dropbox - DJI_0101.DNG

Does anyone know this is normal or can i correct this with some settings?

Thank you in advance!

Kind regards,

Gino Ferri

It looks out of focus to me.

Look at some of the focus threads.
Some folks have sent theirs back under warranty for focus issues.

I can't open the image at dropbox. The only option it gives me is to download the app, and I don't want the app.
If it looks anything like your pic above, that is horribly grainy!
That almost looks like the picture seen from within the Go app.
That picture is the one off of your SD card, right?

for ISO 200 it is very grainy as well as being slightly soft. I did a little post process to see how much it could be recovered but something doesn't look right to me. Hopefully someone else with the standard can help here.

Hi and thanks for the quick replies!
The picture is the original from the SD card.

I have cut a piece out of the original image with snipping tool. At that moment the zoom was 100%.
All my images are having this problem

You have to download the .DNG file and then view it with your own app. The DNG (Digital NeGatives ) are raw images.

Hi all,

Thanks for checking it out.
I have contacted DJI support and they say i have to send the phantom back.

Do you guys think this is really neccesary or could it just be some settings?

My camera is in sharp focus at the left and gets to be a softer focus on the right side. Especially bottom left to top right gets worse. But overall is acceptable.
I found this by placing drone on picnic table and taking picture of a wood fence. The whole picture is of the same thing. So it is easier to judge.
You might want to try something like that. A brick wall would be good. Anything with sharp edges or pattern to judge focus.
It doesn't have to be pretty.

Experiment just holding drone in hand

Thank you for your reply. I will try that tomorrowmorning and will post the results here!

Hi,

I have taken the Phantom 3 back to the store and it seems to be a hardware related issue.
Got my money back and have bought a new Phantom 3 Advanced :)

Thanks all!
