Phantom vision plus transmitter,Battery level led how to wire

i bought a battery level led..now I want to wire it in my transmitter on my battery feed but when it's wired to the battery the light just stays on...we're can I wire it so it can monitor the battery and it goes off after you power off the transmitter? This will be separate from the original green led..the one I'm wiring in changes colors from green to yellow to red? Thank you
