At Santa Monica Beach it's a night time art show based on exhibits built around various colors or lights.
The footage will be incredible. I will be there

I am in Temecula. Too far from Santa Monica. Looking around Riverside County or San Diego area.

Im in Fountain Valley. There are some great places to fly that are both within AMA guidelines (Costa Mesa and FV) and on the outside of that. Great canyons near Laguna beach, Cliffs off HB, lots of stuff. My list is getting long. Id love to hear about other pilots favorite spots.

We should arrange to fly somewhere close to both of us.

My Phantom 2 Vision should arrive this coming Friday.
This will be my first Radio Control experience, so I have a lot of learning to do.

If would be a pleasure to link up with other pilots, experienced or beginner.
I live in Laguna Hills, and have yet to decide upon a first flight site.
My neighborhood is congested with many WiFi signal sources.

    Cheers, Gary (an old guy)

I'm just getting into all of this myself. I have a UDI RC U816A arriving today to practice with before I dive into a Phantom. I was in the very early stages of building a quadcopter, when almost literally a Phantom fell into my lap at work. (One crashed into our building and sat unclaimed for 6 months). So my GM is going to give it to me. Once I get a new transmitter and maybe a new frame Id love to attend a meet up.

I'm trying to get as much air time as possible and work on FPV and aerial cinematography.

Hope to see you all soon.

Oh man you live in a great area to take scenic shots. I used to live Aliso Viejo. The canyons and parks are great in that region. I live In Fountain Valley now. Maybe I'll bump into you some time.

This used to be one of my favorite parks. They have a BIG dog run on the back side of the hill. Hardly ever anyone there. Perfect place to fly to begin. The main part is good too and would give you a great view. Check it out. If you let me know ahead of time I can meet you there if Im off duty (firefighter). Good luck.. you are in a great area for flying and amazing scenery!

    James.

High voltage power lines run through that park, so I have not flown there.
However, the northeastern part of the park might be usable.

I have been using the biggest baseball field of the 6 just west of
the junction of Alicia Parkway and the 73 tollway.

SAR Pilot, I think we are close to each other, I'm in Poway (San Diego). My P2 is coming next week. Although it hasn't arrived yet, I would love to hangout with you someday. I'm looking for someone to give me a quick start. Please PM if you want to get together.

Just wanted to say hi. This is Don in Cypress, California (next to Cerritos, Lakewood, Long Beach). I have had my P2V for about 3 weeks and enjoy flying/filming at the harbor area (Queen Mary) of Long Beach, Seal Beach pier, Huntington Beach pier, and numerous local parks in the OC area.

If someone wants to put together a local meet and greet, let me know I'm in!

    Have fun and fly safe!
