Phantom not Phantom 2

Hi all, I have a question, I am new to this so please understand. I purchased the Phantom not the Phantom2. I own a Mac and I am trying to get the Assistant software. All I can find for the Mac is for the Phantom 2. I tried to use it but there is no communication between the Phantom and the 2.
Is the Phantom 2 assistance software suppose to work with the Phantom?
What am I doing wrong?
