Phantom christmas present crashes...?

In the run up to the festive season, I read many times on the forum predictions of lots of complete beginners never having operated any craft before, all putting their shiny new copters in the air without so much as glancing at the Manual, and promptly trashing them...
I kinda expected it too...
But I dont seem to have seen many such posts, or have I missed them?
