Hi Guys ..
I.m having major issues to update my firmware. just got the Phantom 3 advanced out the box and the firmware starts to update then the beep changes to a long continious bbbbbbbbbeeeeeeeeppppppppppp .. Flashing yellow lights & solid red lights ..
Can anyone assist??

Are you updating the firmware via a micro SD card in the camera, or updating through the DJI app? If you're using the SD card method, try deleting the firmware from card, download a new .bin file to the card, reinsert into the camera, and then power-up.

Format the card via the DJI Go app while it is in the Phantom, not your computer. It can sometimes make a difference. I know it does with digital cameras. If you can't, it should necessarily be a deal breaker. But it is better for format in the device (Phantom).

Again, make sure you download the .bin file (not the .zip file) to the SD card. The .bin file needs to be in the root directory (which means that it's not in a folder on the card, but simply loose on the card). Also, make sure you've downloaded the P3A firmware and not the P3P firmware, or P2 or some other Phantom. And make sure you have your controller turned off while you're updating firmware via an SD card. While you're at it, also remove the camera transport bracket. The camera needs to be able to move about during a firmware upgrade. You may hear some noise from the gimbal motors during an update.

Firmware can take up to a half hour to install. So have your battery charged to at least 50 percent. You should hear a series of beeps as it installs. The there is an LED on the front of the gimbal, above the camera lens. It should flash green and red while firmware is installing. It will turn green when installation is complete. Disregard the LEDs on the motor arms.

I don't know of any way to update P3 firmware connecting to a computer. With the P2, you connect to the computer to update firmware, but you also use an app for that.

Ok thanks.. Will attempt to try these other options. I just left home so I'll keep you posted if it works.. [emoji106] appreciated .. #respect

I can not stress this more... dont update to the latest one if youre doing a FW update from a brand new P3A!

Get it to 1.3.2 and THEN upgrade to whatever you want... dont jump the 1.3.2 update.

Hi all ... I've tried all the suggestion and still nothing.. I still can't upgrade nor downgrade the firmware.. And I have the same problem ..

Upload the file P3X_FW_LOG_AB.txt on the SD card to the thread (copy and paste is easiest). That will tell us if the install failed and where you started from. It will look something like this:

The file P3X_FW_LOG_AB.txt is in a hidden folder labeled MISC on the SD card. You may need to enable "show hidden folders" in your file settings on your computer to see it.
Also, as Yobdab said you cannot skip FW version 1.3.2. You didn't say what your current FW version is.
Your log shows only 1.6.4 trying to be installed.

I formated the SD card and d/loaded the 1.3.2 version. Try the install again and after 3 mins i got the same sound again. Attached is the log file from the hidden folder on the SD card.
How do I check the version of FW ??

So I managed to check the version..
A few things I noticed.
1. My camera does not work while I'm in the DJI app
2. My app reconigise the Phantom as a Proffesional on the home screen, while I have an P3 Advanced. (The software i d/loaded is aslo for the P3 Advanced.)

It's clear from your log file that many hardware components are not detected. I've seen this in only one other thread where the person replaced his main board after a ESC error - still not solved.

Also have seen a few similar issues where only 2 components are not detected, [15 00] and [08 00] (which is not on the P3A only P3P) they were told by DJI they needed to send in for repair.

It's unknown why, but it might be that your new P3A came with FW version 1.1.9 and that by skipping 1.3.2 before trying to go to 1.6.4 caused these issues.... Purely speculation on my part.

Would be worth trying to install the 1.1.9 FW. It may not let you, but it won't hurt anything.

Ok.. Tks much for the support .. I'll try the 1.1.9 and see if that works.. If not I'll send the drone back... Most frustrating I must say.. Will keep the forum updated when I do so.. #Seasonsgreetingstoall

I provided link to the FW in last post after an edit

Hey all.. Well I've tried loading the FW version 1.1.9 .. Still no luck.. I'm thinking now it's a serious hardware problem with my drone.. So after all the suggestions I'll have to send it back. Thanks to all for the suggestion ..
