Phantom 3 Webinar Training!

Yes, iPAD or iPhone would be the best choice for this. But if you want to play the video at the field via your tablet, so you should get an Android-based tablet. Because Android tablet has one adapter called OTG cable, so you can plug a card reader into it to play the video in the SD Card. Some tablet has SD Card slot so you can plug the SD Card directly into them to read the video file.
If you want to get a Android tablet, beside the Galaxy Tab, check the Nexus 7 and Nexus 9 from Goggles too, as they run pure Android OS, no bloatware from the manufacturer, so Nexus tablet runs the DJI App smoother than others.

Apple has an SD Card adapter cable too. :)

Hello guys,

Below are the topics we will cover on our first webinar training. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks

Introduction to:

“Culture of safe Flying”

--An approach to safe operation that applies a checklist mentality to ensure consistency.

Essential factors of safe operation before flight
  1. Know your equipment checklist(s)

    1. Aircraft (limitations, FC modes, flight time etc)

    2. Remote Control (Switch, button Functions etc)

    3. Camera Functions (Gimbal control, image quality settings etc)
  1. Know the rules of the sky

    1. Federal Regulations (AGL limitations, Class A-G airspace definitions, AGL considerations)

    2. Privacy Concerns (flying over private vs public property)
  1. Environmental Factors

    1. Meteorological (precip, wind)

    2. Time of day

    3. Area of operation (ample space, obstacles, alternate LZs available)

    4. People (bystanders, family / friends)

    5. Sun position (ensured proper orientation)

    6. Contingency plan (Safe AO becomes unsafe. Ie bystanders arrive, weather changes etc)
  1. Consider Your Experience

    1. Have you flown in:

      1. This weather

      2. In this area

      3. With these distractions

Essential Factors of safe operations during flight

  1. Three phases of flight

    1. Identify and define

    2. Prioritize ⅔ phases

    3. Considerations for each phase
  1. “Eyes Inside vs Outside the Cockpit”

    1. Techniques to manage both perspectives

    2. FPV vs LOS navigation considerations

    3. What is the spotters role
  1. Instrument Scan Techniques

    1. Explanation

    2. Priority vs non essential information

    3. When to scan vs when not to scan
  1. Landing Considerations

    1. Battery state (when to begin landing phase)

    2. Auto Land feature considerations

      1. Flight Path

      2. Preset altitude

      3. Current GPS Satellite Count
    3. Emergency Procedures

      1. Retake control as necessary

      2. Maintain vigilance (continue to “fly” the machine)
  1. Post Flight Debriefing

    1. What went right vs wrong

    2. Did the flight accomplish it’s goals?

    3. What will be repeated and/or changed?
