Homepoint Hassles, I launch get to 100 meters, travel approx 100 Yards, then hit return home while i can still clearly see my bird. if i think it even farted in the wrong direction i hit cancel, reset the compass etc , wash rinse repeat, too POE to toss em for lack of trying...

Cure for wet cell phones tablets and yes drones. worse case scenario, it was submerged or outside in bad weather for days. 5lbs of rice, {more if needed} in a closed container that holds the wet culprit, tape the lid creating an airtight seal. Rice will draw out moisture like nobodies business, give it 3 days ,, I have restored countless cell phones this way. Rice Grits, any food item that requires lots of water will get AND GRAB ANY MOISTURE IN THE CONTAINER.

Hey everyone,

today something terrible happened. My Dji Phantom 3 Standard flew away. I was filming some really nice empty buildings in east Germany from outside and I wanted it to return to home but somehow it had another RTH point. It logged 2 flights even though i did only one. Then it just started in the completely wrong direction from me. I searched everywhere but could not find it.
It cant be in the water cause its only ice there now but i havent seen it on the ice anywhere.
Maybe you can help solve the riddle because I think DJI will not replace anything?!
And tomorrow is my birthday. Amazing !

In the end I got a new drone from Dji just today. Waited over a month.Just the drone no new battery or anything. I will fly it today first time. Thanks for all your help. Cu soon

After several hour of search around last recorded position I haven't found the drone. Could it fly away the direction it was heading when lost contact?
It was only around 2-3 minutes into the flight with fresh bateries so it could fly away several miles making my search almost impossible.

It looks like a bug in DJI go app 3.1.2 but No response from DJI support as yet.

On October 9th my P3S flew away! The last visual I had was 12,217 feet away. It stayed in a field 2 1/2 miles away for five days until I just happened to spot it. RTH was enacted but it just kept flying away. After viewing the flight log in the DJI go app, I got the direction it headed. Just kept searching in that direction until on October 14th I was able to bring it back home. It was connected to 11 satellites at 12K' but it never returned home. I have tested it several times since then, and RTH works every time. No idea what happened on the 9th.

It's a real puzzle. As though something interrupted it's ability to return home. Guess I'll never know. There is a cell tower out that way. Maybe it had something to do with it. Any guesses?
