Phantom 3 Pro/Adv Maximum Distance

The DJI website shows for the specifications of P3P and P3A that maximum distance is 5000m for FCC compliance and 3500m for CE compliance.

Max Distance
Up to 5 km or 3.1 miles (unobstructed, free of interference) when FCC compliant
Up to 3.5 km or 2.1 miles (unobstructed, free of interference) when CE compliant

I thought that the maximum distance (without mods) was 2000m. Does anybody know if this has been changed? If it has, this is valid for which version of drone?

They've always been capable of these distances. The difference is now they're being marketed as such.
