Fitting A Parachute Recovery..System To - My Phantom 3 A

I have recently been looking all over for A Parachute for My Phantom 3 A.
Living in the UK is virtually impossible..

I came across an Advert For - HUBSAN - For Their X4..

Similar Looking Drone, and Size etc of Phantom..

So I Took A Risk.. Bought One From Maplin..
As It was A £100 GBP($150 USD) ..
Didn't want to Hack it About..
Easy To Install, has it's Own - Operating System Included..

When arrived , I Cut 2 x 4-5 inch Lengths of 12mm Carbon Fibre Tubes.
And Clamped the Parachute Housings Clamps to the Tubes..
Attached Them To The Back Of The Phantom with some Small short - Velcro Straps.. Could Use Zip Ties of Course..
Fits To The Back a treat..
Drone Flies as If it's not attached - Performance & Flying Wise,

As for the HUBSAN unit itself , it is very well designed..
Charged/Recharges via USB ..
Deploying of the Chute - It Basically it automatically Spring releases the Chute - any Time the Drone is Turned, On Its Access - More Than 80 degrees..

I have not tested it on the Drone , by cutting engines etc..

But Just holding the Hubsan unit unattached to Drone - , as Soon as you Turn the unit on its Side - It Powerfully Ejects and Deploys The Ample - Chute..

The great Thing is - It is easy to Reset..Re-Pack The Chute Etc.
As many Times as you need, with no cost..
All you have to Do is Reset the Spring, Fold The Chute in Half - 3 x
Them let the cords fall back inside the the unit, put the Bunled/Scunched chute on top inside Launch Tube, and Resest The Solenoid Controlled Latch.

As With Most other Systems I have discovered , the Drone, Gets Delivered Back To Earth Upside Down..
Which obviously best Protects the Camera, and Landing Gear Etc.
Compared with other options, available -
I Recomend this Item.. For anyone who wants this option as I Did ..
It Is Easy To attach or Remove..
Or
Leave it in Place, and Not Activate, and Leave the Safety Pin In Place.
According To Hubsans Listing
It Should Get your Aircraft - Back down safely from as Low as 15 Metres ..

I can post photos etc , of it Fitted - if anyone is interested..

I want to see this

yes go up to 400 feet with your phantom cut engines so we can see this in action make sure to film it;)

No need, someone tested it at 12, 20 and 50 meters. Gulp!! I am tempted to get one. If you have one how much does it affect flight time?

Also this one seems interesting, with a "mayday" function.
Mars Parachutes | Fly safe, Drone parachutes
But the best will be a standalone trigger, to deploy a parachute AND switching off the engines, to be used in case of "panic". For what I know, here in Italy there are some ad hoc solutions (fully independent system) but they cost 700€ and more...

Hi paulkay231

I am very interested in your purchase and the fitting on the P3.
How do they fit on the legs on the P3?
Please post pics. This would be what I am looking for.

Best regards
Jesper
