Phantom 2 Vision Battery question?

I just received a new Phantom 2 Vision Quad and Charged the craft and range extender before taking it out for the first time. My first flight was short only 6 minutes due to first time and impending darkness. After coming home the battery on the Phantom was down to 84 percent so I plugged it back in. I know it's good to deplete batteries but just this once I was going to recharge for a flight the next day but the battery wouldn't start charging again. Does the battery have to deplete to a certain level before starting to once again take a charge? Thanks for any help on this
